Standing next to Stevens Institute of Technology's DUCKS research vessel, it's difficult to imagine that Dr. Jon Miller ever had to survey bodies of water with anything else. In this new video, Dr. Miller, a Research Assistant Professor of Ocean Engineering and member of the Center for Maritime Systems, explains how engineers in Davidson Laboratories equipped a factory jet ski with scientific equipment and significantly improved surveying efficiency.
An alumnus of Stevens undergraduate Civil Engineering program, Dr. Miller discovered coastal studies through the innovative curriculum at the university where he is now a faculty member. In another short video, he discusses how major weather events influenced his decision to pursue ocean engineering.
